In a significant development concerning the administration of the Shrimati Laxmibai Dagdusheth Halwai Datt Mandir Trust, the Joint Charity Commissioner has dismissed applications seeking an interim stay on the appointment and functioning of the trust’s newly appointed trustees.
The applications were filed by a group of individuals who had challenged the trustee appointment process and sought a temporary halt to the implementation of the order issued by the Assistant Charity Commissioner. The applicants had requested that the functioning of the newly formed board be suspended until the matter was fully adjudicated.
However, after examining the submissions, the Joint Charity Commissioner rejected the plea and observed that the applications could not be entertained in their present form. The authority noted that the request for a stay lacked the necessary legal basis, particularly when no substantive proceedings were pending before the office.
The order further pointed out deficiencies in the manner in which the applications had been drafted and presented. As a result, the requests for interim relief were dismissed, effectively allowing the newly appointed trustees to continue carrying out the trust’s affairs without interruption.

The ruling is expected to provide administrative stability to the trust, which oversees religious and social activities associated with the prominent temple. The decision also means that the recently constituted governing body will remain in place while any future legal challenges, if pursued, take their own course through the appropriate channels.
The trust’s new board was constituted following the completion of the appointment process under the supervision of the charity authorities. With the stay plea now rejected, the board is expected to continue managing the trust’s religious, charitable and community initiatives.
