An 18-year-old student preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) was found dead at her residence in Pune’s Hadapsar area, prompting an investigation by local police into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have stated that the exact cause of the death is yet to be determined and all possible angles are being examined.

According to preliminary information, the teenager was a medical entrance examination aspirant and had been preparing for NEET. Family members discovered her unresponsive and alerted the police. Officers from Hadapsar Police Station reached the spot and initiated legal procedures before sending the body for post-mortem examination. Police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) as part of the initial inquiry.

Investigators said no conclusions have been drawn regarding the reason behind the incident. Statements of family members and other individuals known to the student are being recorded, while officials are also examining any available evidence to ascertain whether she had been facing personal, academic or other challenges. Authorities have urged the public to refrain from speculation until the investigation is completed.
