July 7, 2026 | Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has accepted the resignations of its General Secretary, Champat Rai, and trustee Anil Mishra during its first official meeting following the controversy surrounding the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple.

The meeting, chaired by Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, lasted for nearly three hours and concluded at around 6:30 pm on Monday. During the proceedings, the Trust formally approved the resignations submitted by Rai and Mishra. The development marks a significant administrative change within the body responsible for overseeing the affairs of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Following the acceptance of the resignations, the Trust appointed retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Krishna Mohan as the interim General Secretary. He will oversee the responsibilities of the post until a permanent appointment is made. The Trust also indicated that appointments to several other key positions are expected in the coming days as part of an administrative restructuring.

According to reports, Champat Rai and Gopal Rao had arrived at the venue to attend the meeting. However, they were not permitted to participate in the proceedings. No official reason for denying their entry was publicly disclosed by the Trust.

The administrative reshuffle comes amid heightened public attention following allegations linked to the handling of temple donations. While the Trust has not released further details regarding the ongoing matter, it stated that the decisions taken during the meeting were aimed at ensuring smooth administration and maintaining public confidence in the institution.

Further announcements regarding new office-bearers and future administrative arrangements are expected after the completion of the Trust’s internal selection process.
