NIA Files 7,500-Page Chargesheet Against 10 Accused in Red Fort Blast Case

NIA
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has submitted a massive 7,500 page chargesheet against ten individuals linked to Al-Qaeda, following the devastating 10/11 terror attack near Delhi’s historic Red Fort.
New Delhi | May 15, 2026: In a significant move toward justice for the victims of the November 10, 2025, Red Fort blast, the NIA has filed a comprehensive chargesheet at the Patiala House Special Court. The document names ten accused associated with the terror outfit Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a known affiliate of Al-Qaeda. The explosion, which claimed 11 lives and left dozens injured, had sent shockwaves through the national capital last year.

The investigation highlights a sophisticated terror network orchestrated by the primary accused, Dr. Umar Nabi, an assistant professor from Faridabad’s Al-Falah University. Although Nabi was killed in the blast, forensic experts utilized DNA fingerprinting to confirm his identity and link him to the conspiracy. The chargesheet invokes stringent sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Explosive Substances Act.

The NIA’s case is built on a mountain of evidence, including statements from 588 witnesses and over 395 documents. Crucial forensic data, voice analysis, and DNA profiling conducted across Delhi, Faridabad, and Jammu & Kashmir have been cited as decisive factors in mapping the logistics of the attack. Among those named are Amir Rashid Mir, Jasir Bilal Wani, and several medical professionals, suggesting a disturbing level of radicalization within academic and professional circles.
While 11 individuals have been apprehended so far, the agency continues its manhunt for several absconding operatives. This filing marks a critical milestone in dismantling the Al-Qaeda-linked sleeper cells operating within the Delhi-NCR region.
