Buldhana, April 20, 2026: A tragic accident on the Samruddhi Expressway has once again highlighted the dangers of distracted driving, after a private luxury bus overturned near Mehkar toll plaza, leading to the death of a one-and-a-half-year-old child and injuries to more than 20 passengers. According to preliminary reports, the bus was en route from Mumbai to Pusad when the driver allegedly lost control while being distracted by filming social media reels along with the cleaner. The vehicle, reportedly moving at high speed, overturned and also collided with a nearby car, intensifying the impact of the crash. Eyewitnesses and passengers described moments of panic as the bus flipped, leaving several people seriously injured and requiring immediate medical attention.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals in Mehkar, though some families raised concerns about delays in emergency response.
