SPPU Warns Students Against Taking Admission to Synergy School of Commerce
SPPU has warned students against taking admission to Synergy School of Commerce for 2026–27 after an inquiry found no affiliation and no college at its registered address.
PUNE: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has warned students against seeking admission to Synergy School of Commerce for the 2026–27 academic year after an inquiry found that the institution did not have the university’s affiliation and was not operating at its registered address.
The matter came to light after a student complained that the college had allegedly refused to issue her Transfer Certificate (TC). Following the complaint, university officials attempted to contact the institution but reportedly received no response. An inquiry committee was subsequently formed to investigate the matter.
College Not Found at Registered Address
During its visit, the inquiry committee reportedly found that Synergy School of Commerce, operated by Synergy Foundation, was not functioning at the address recorded in the university’s documents.
The inquiry also indicated that the institution had allegedly shifted to another location without obtaining the required approval from SPPU. The university raised concerns about admissions being offered without valid affiliation and about deficiencies in the institution’s academic and administrative arrangements.
University Issues Public Warning
SPPU’s Academic Affiliation Department has issued a public notice advising students not to take admission to any course offered by Synergy School of Commerce from the 2026–27 academic year.
University officials have stated that admitting students without the required affiliation and relocating an institution without prior approval violate the prescribed procedures. The matter has also been brought to the attention of the relevant regulatory authorities for further action.
Students Urged to Verify Affiliation
The case has raised concerns about students’ academic futures, particularly those who may have already enrolled or paid fees. Students and parents are advised to verify a college’s current university affiliation and course approvals before taking admission.
SPPU’s warning is intended to prevent students from enrolling in programmes that may not have the required university recognition for the academic year concerned.
