New Delhi | May 22, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued definitive directives to his Council of Ministers, instructing all government ministries to align their future strategic policies and operational frameworks with the overarching goal of achieving a “Viksit Bharat 2047” (Developed India 2047). The directives were delivered during an extensive federal review meeting held at the ‘Seva Tirth’ center in New Delhi on Thursday. The high-level session concluded after four and a half hours of detailed administrative deliberations.

The comprehensive agenda focused heavily on introducing systemic administrative reforms, enhancing the ease of living for citizens, and evaluating upcoming developmental portfolios. Sources familiar with the proceedings indicated that the Prime Minister urged ministers to shift their entire focus toward long-term national growth, emphasizing that every legislative and executive decision must directly uplift common citizens and systematically improve their socio-economic standard of living.

Reaffirming his governance philosophy of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance,’ the Prime Minister advised officials that the state should eliminate unnecessary regulatory interference in the daily lives of citizens. However, he emphasized that the administration must remain highly responsive, delivering timely interventions, social security support, and robust structural reforms when required. Over half a dozen union ministries presented detailed progress reports and structural projections for their upcoming infrastructure projects during the session.

The meeting also placed special emphasis on accelerating bureaucratic workflows and increasing administrative efficiency. Union ministers were strictly instructed to ensure that all official documentation and policy files are processed within established timelines to eliminate operational delays. Concurrently, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar briefed the cabinet on the strategic outcomes of the Prime Minister’s recent diplomatic visits to five nations, highlighting the geopolitical advantages secured for India.
