Electric-Bike Battery Blast in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Leaves Woman Severely Injured

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s Paithan taluka, an e-bike battery exploded while charging inside a shop, critically injuring a 74-year-old woman. Police have launched an investigation.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar | November 06, 2025: A frightening incident in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has raised concerns about safety standards for electric vehicles. On Monday afternoon, an e-bike battery being charged in a repair shop near the bus stop in Adual village exploded suddenly.

The blast injured a 74-year-old woman named Muktabai Sarjerao Pival, who was sitting nearby. She sustained serious burns and was rushed to a local hospital, where she continues to receive treatment.

According to reports, the battery had been placed on charge at a shop owned by Shubham Uttamrao Pival near Adual bus stand. Witnesses say everything seemed normal until the explosion occurred without warning.

After the blast, locals immediately called emergency services and transferred the injured woman to a private hospital in Sambhajinagar. Authorities have registered the case with Paithan police, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause and whether safety protocols were violated.

The incident has sparked alarm among residents, many of whom say that, with the growing use of electric two-wheelers, safety measures for charging stations have not kept pace. Vendors and repair shops are being urged to follow guidelines to prevent such accidents in the future.
