19-year-old Girl Commits Suicide in Mumbra After Harassment, Leaves Suicide Note

A 19-year-old woman in Mumbra took her own life citing harassment by local youths. Police found a suicide note naming her alleged tormentors. Investigation is underway.

Mumbra (Thane) | November 7, 2025: A 19-year-old woman allegedly ended her life in Mumbra after suffering continuous harassment and mental torment at the hands of local youths, family members say. The incident has shocked residents of Sanjay Nagar and triggered demands for stricter action.

According to her family, the victim lived in Sanjay Nagar and was being harassed repeatedly by some men from the neighbourhood. The constant discomfort and mental strain became unbearable, leading her to take the extreme step.

Police say a suicide note was found at the scene in which she named specific individuals she accused of causing her distress. They are now investigating the claims mentioned in that note.

Local residents expressed outrage after learning of the suicide. Some said that the area has a history of complaints about harassment late at night, with people gathering in the vicinity. They are calling on authorities to take stringent action and ensure safety in the neighbourhood.

As the investigation continues, her father an auto rickshaw driver has joined with community members to file a petition demanding police action. A protest is planned tomorrow at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk to press for swift arrests.
