Thane’s Kalyan-Dombivli Crime Branch arrested a 36-year-old man, Roshan Hiranand Jha, and recovered three country-made pistols, cartridges, knives, and other weapons worth nearly ₹1.98 lakh
Thane | 17 November 2025: Thane Police’s Crime Branch in the Kalyan–Dombivli area has carried out a major raid, arresting Roshan Hiranand Jha (36) and seizing a large cache of arms from his residence. Authorities say they recovered three country-made pistols, along with ammunition, knives and other weapons, with a total estimated value of ₹1.98 lakh.
The operation was launched following a credible tip-off, and police teams executed a carefully planned search at Jha’s home in Dombivli
According to the Crime Branch, Jha appears to have possessed the weapons illegally and without any valid license.
Officials have registered a case under relevant sections of the Arms Act and are investigating Jha’s possible links with other criminal networks. The presence of multiple firearms and auxiliary weapons suggests he may have been supplying or storing arms for illicit use.
Thane Police say this seizure reflects their ongoing crackdown on illegal arms proliferation in the region. By targeting individuals with home stockpiles of weapons, law enforcement aims to disrupt the supply chain that fuels criminal acts in urban and suburban areas.
The Crime Branch has also appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and share any information about suspicious activity; they emphasize that community cooperation is vital to keeping illegal arms off the street.
