Kolhapur | November 21,2025:- A serious case of violence has emerged in Kagal, Kolhapur, rooted in a land dispute. According to a report , an 81-year-old man was assaulted near the rural hospital premises in Kagal, reportedly connected to a dispute over farmland.
At the same time, in a neighboring area (Mauje Sangav), a woman was also attacked amid the same conflict.
Both sides have registered complaints against each other at the Kagal Police Station, resulting in cross-FIRs. The exact motive of the attacks is believed to stem from long-standing disagreements over agricultural land ownership.
Police have begun preliminary investigation but details such as injuries, number of accused, or whether arrests have been made are currently not fully clear. The reports underscore how land disputes especially in rural Maharashtra can quickly escalate into violence, drawing in vulnerable and elderly individuals.
Community members and local authorities are now calling for a peaceful resolution through proper legal channels to prevent further escalation.
