High-Level MIDC Meeting In Nagpur Seen As Major Boost For Modnimb Industrial Development

A high-level meeting with Maharashtra ministers in Nagpur is set to accelerate land acquisition and development of the Modnimb MIDC industrial area, bringing fresh momentum to the Solapur region’s growth prospects.

Solapur | 12 December 2025: Development of the proposed Modnimb Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) project has received a potential boost with a top-tier meeting scheduled in Nagpur involving key state ministers and senior officials. The move comes amid efforts to speed up land acquisition and move forward with plans for this industrial zone.

Leaders from the Solapur region, including BJP’s Ranjitsinh Shinde and his brother Vikramsinh Shinde, held discussions in Nagpur with Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Forest Minister Ganesh Naik. They were joined by Guardian Minister Jaykumar Gore and other officials to review progress on the MIDC project. Local sources say the meeting was organised to address key bottlenecks, particularly in the land acquisition process, which has been a significant hurdle in advancing the industrial area. With commitments from ministers to engage directly in clearing procedural issues, business groups and stakeholders in the Solapur district are optimistic that this push could finally get the project on track.

The Modnimb MIDC is seen as a strategic development that could attract investment, create jobs and enhance the industrial profile of the region. This aligns with broader state initiatives to strengthen infrastructure and spread industrial growth outside the major urban centres like Pune and Mumbai.

Solapur’s industrial ecosystem already includes MIDC estates along Akkalkot Road and recent support for a Hotgi IT Park after high-power committee approval, showing the district’s growing appeal for industrial and tech investment.

Officials are expected to formalise further steps and timelines once the Nagpur meeting concludes, offering clarity on land acquisition and investment incentives for the Modnimb MIDC.
