Kolhapur| Jan 23 ,2026: Kolhapur Excise Flying Squad-1 seized ₹1.30 crore worth of Goa-manufactured foreign liquor from Rajasthan-bound truck MH-20-EG-1310 Wednesday night at Anuskura Phata, Shahuwadi taluka. Acting on specific intelligence during Zilla Parishad election Model Code enforcement, officers intercepted the six-wheeler around 5:30 AM Thursday.

Container inspection uncovered 1,600 boxes containing 77,800 sealed 180ml bottles valued at ₹1.15 crore. Driver Ramjiwan Vishnudharam Bishnoi (26, Barmer, Rajasthan) arrested immediately. Including truck and mobile phone, total contraband reached ₹1.30 crore under District Excise Superintendent Snehalata Narwane and Deputy Superintendent Yuvraj Shinde’s supervision. Deputy Inspector Ajay Waghmare led the operation.

Simultaneous Local Crime Branch raid at Marli odha bridge, Panhala taluka netted Tempo MH-09-EL-2985 carrying ₹1.91 lakh illegal liquor. Driver Vishal Madan Kanse (33, Uma Talkies area, Kolhapur) detained while owner Samrat Mane (Shivaji Peth) implicated. Total seizure including vehicle valued ₹3.66 lakh. PI Sushant Chavan’s team with API Sagar Waghmare executed the naka.
