Karad (Satara) | February 14, 2026: The Dada Undalkar Memorial Committee has announced that former Chief Justice of India Bhushan Gavai will be conferred with the prestigious Dada Undalkar Social Award 2026. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 18 at Undale in Karad, located in Maharashtra’s Satara district.

Instituted in memory of freedom fighter Dada Undalkar, the award recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to society, public service, and national development. The ceremony will be held during the 43rd Freedom Fighters’ Convention and Ex-Servicemen Gathering, an annual event that commemorates the legacy of India’s freedom movement.

The award carries a cash prize of ₹51,000, along with a shawl, memento, and citation. Prominent dignitaries from the judiciary, literary field, and social sectors are expected to attend the programme.

Organisers stated that Justice Gavai’s contribution to constitutional values, judicial integrity, and public welfare made him a deserving choice for the honour. The annual award ceremony has become a significant event in Satara district, drawing participation from citizens, veterans, and social organisations.

The event aims to preserve the legacy of Dada Undalkar while encouraging continued commitment to social responsibility and national service.
