In Coastal Maharashtra, including urban centers, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 27°C and 32°C, with elevated humidity that may intensify the feeling of heat. Western Maharashtra cities such as Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur are likely to see afternoon highs between 32°C and 35°C, while North Maharashtra districts like Nashik, Dhule, and Jalgaon may record temperatures from 32°C to 36°C. The weather is expected to remain dry, with minimal cloud cover and abundant sunshine throughout the day.

In Marathwada and Vidarbha, heat is anticipated to be more pronounced, with maximum temperatures reaching 34°C to 37°C in cities such as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Latur, Nanded, and Nagpur. These readings are significantly above typical late-February norms and indicate early signs of heatwave-like conditions in the eastern parts of the state.

Authorities have advised that the persistent dry and hot conditions may increase the risk of heat stress and dehydration, especially for outdoor workers, the elderly, and children. Residents are recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to the midday sun, drink ample water, and take preventive measures to stay cool. Farmers are also encouraged to monitor irrigation carefully, as crops may require additional water due to higher temperatures.

While monsoon systems remain active over southern India, their influence on Maharashtra will be minimal in the coming 24 hours, resulting in sustained dry conditions. Though not officially classified as a full heatwave in all districts, the elevated temperatures resemble early heatwave patterns that typically occur later in the season.

Travelers and residents are urged to plan outdoor activities with caution, maintain hydration, and follow safety guidelines to minimize heat-related risks. With rising temperatures and clear skies dominating the region, Maharashtra is expected to experience an unusually warm day for this time of year.
