Central Railway extends the Hadapsar–Prayagraj weekly special train with 32 additional trips from April to mid-July to handle summer travel rush.

Pune | 27 March, 2026: In a significant move to manage the upcoming summer travel rush, Central Railway in coordination with North Central Railway has announced that the Hadapsar–Prayagraj weekly special train services will run until 15 July 2026, with a total of 32 additional trips scheduled between Pune and Prayagraj. The extended operations will help clear heavy passenger demand during peak holiday seasons and long weekend travel periods across central and northern India.

The extended service includes 16 trips each in both directions between Hadapsar (in Pune) and Prayagraj. Train No. 04107 (Prayagraj–Hadapsar Weekly Special) will depart from Prayagraj Junction every Wednesday at 10:20 hrs beginning 1 April, reaching Hadapsar the next evening at 19:30 hrs. The return leg, Train No. 04108 (Hadapsar–Prayagraj Weekly Special), will depart from Hadapsar at 22:40 hrs every Thursday starting 2 April and arrive at Prayagraj Junction at 06:30 hrs on Saturdays through 16 July 2026.

The special train will stop at several key stations along a long route covering major junctions such as Daund Chord Line, Ahilyanagar, Belapur, Kopargaon, Manmad Junction, Bhusaval Junction, Itarsi Junction, Khandwa, Rani Kamlapati, Bina, Lalitpur, Tikamgarh, MCS Chhatarpur, Dariyaganj, Khajuraho, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakut Dham, Manikpur, Dabhaura, and Shankargarh between Pune and Prayagraj. This extensive list of halts ensures connectivity for passengers from several regions across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

The train’s coach composition will include 20 ICF coaches, consisting of one AC 2-tier coach, two AC 3-tier coaches, eight sleeper class coaches, seven general second class coaches and two guard/luggage vans. While AC and sleeper classes will be available through advance reservations on the IRCTC website and PRS counters, general second class and guard/luggage vans will operate unreserved and can be booked via the UTS system at applicable charges.

Railway officials said the extension of the weekly service comes in response to the consistently high demand for long-distance trains connecting Pune with northern destinations like Prayagraj — especially during school holidays, festival seasons and summer vacations when travel volumes surge. The 32 extra trips will give passengers more flexibility in planning journeys and help reduce pressure on regular scheduled trains that often witness heavy waitlists.

Passengers are urged to check the detailed schedule, stoppages and reservation availability on the IRCTC portal or the Indian Railways enquiry website well in advance, since special trains often fill up quickly during peak seasons. The extended Hadapsar–Prayagraj service also aligns with broader Indian Railways efforts to operate additional special services across various routes to cater to seasonal passenger demand.

In conclusion, the extension of the Hadapsar–Prayagraj weekly special train with 32 extra trips through mid-July demonstrates a proactive approach by Indian Railways to ease long-distance travel during summer. With expanded connectivity options and increased seat availability, passengers between Pune and Prayagraj will benefit from better travel flexibility and reduced congestion on peak travel dates.
