CREDAI Pune Deploys 100 Traffic Wardens to Aid Traffic Police This Monsoon

Pune, July 3: In a significant public-private initiative to tackle monsoon-related gridlocks, CREDAI Pune has partnered with the Pune Traffic Police to deploy 100 trained traffic wardens across the city. The initiative, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will run from July to September 2026.

The program officially commenced following a graduation ceremony attended by top dignitaries, including Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Sanjay Darade, and CREDAI Pune President Manish Jain.
Pune’s traffic complications typically intensify during the rainy season due to heavy downpours, active metro construction, and ongoing road repairs. The newly inducted wardens will reinforce traffic regulations, ease bottleneck congestion, and ensure public safety at key intersections during peak hours.

Before their deployment, the 100 wardens underwent a rigorous two-day training program focusing on field operations, safety protocols, and traffic management procedures. Operating on a contractual basis, they will manage traffic daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. To optimize operational efficiency, half of the workforce will be stationed near their residences, while the rest will man busy junctions designated by the traffic police.
CREDAI Pune President Manish Jain emphasized that the organization’s vision extends beyond real estate to civic welfare, aiming to make daily commutes safer. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar lauded the collaboration, urging wardens to maintain discipline and courtesy. Additional Commissioner Manoj Patil highlighted that the wardens’ assistance will also be vital during upcoming major public events, including the Palkhi procession and the Ganesh Festival.
