Historic 150th NDA Passing Out Parade Set For May 30 At Pune’s Khadakwasla

Around 355 cadets will march into the Indian Armed Forces as the National Defence Academy prepares for its landmark 150th Passing Out Parade with grand aerial displays and military precision.

The National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune’s Khadakwasla is preparing to host its historic 150th Passing Out Parade (POP) on May 30, marking a major milestone in the legacy of India’s premier tri-services military training institution. A full dress rehearsal for the grand ceremony was successfully conducted this week at the iconic Khetarpal Parade Ground.

The ceremony is expected to witness approximately 355 cadets formally passing out and moving towards the next phase of their military careers in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The rehearsal showcased the discipline, coordination and ceremonial precision associated with one of the country’s most prestigious military events.

The rehearsal parade was reviewed by NDA Commandant Vice Admiral Anil Jaggi, who monitored preparations for the final event. Officials said the exercise ensured smooth coordination ahead of the main ceremony scheduled for Saturday.

One of the major highlights of the upcoming parade will be a spectacular aerial display by the Indian Armed Forces. The skies above Khadakwasla witnessed rehearsals involving Su-30 MKI fighter jets, the Sarang Helicopter Aerobatics Team, the Akashganga Skydiving Team and formations of Chetak helicopters operating from Air Force Station Lohegaon.

The Passing Out Parade will be reviewed by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, who will attend as the Reviewing Officer for the landmark event. Prior to the parade, the NDA is also conducting the convocation ceremony of the 150th course at Habibullah Hall within the academy campus.

The Passing Out Parade is regarded as one of the most emotional and defining moments in the life of an NDA cadet, symbolising the completion of rigorous military training before moving to specialised pre-commissioning academies.
