New Delhi | March 10 2026: The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday granted bail to Vishal Agarwal, the father of the minor accused of driving the Porsche car involved in the fatal crash in Pune on May 19, 2024, an incident that claimed two lives and sparked nationwide debate on juvenile justice and road safety. The bench observed that Agarwal had been in custody for nearly 22 months and was entitled to bail at this stage of the legal proceedings. The court noted that prolonged detention without the completion of trial could not continue indefinitely and that the matter would proceed through the normal judicial process.

The case relates to the high-profile accident in which a luxury car allegedly driven by a minor crashed into a motorcycle in Pune, killing two young professionals. The incident triggered widespread public outrage and led to intense scrutiny of how the vehicle was accessed by the minor.

Investigators had earlier alleged that Agarwal played a role in allowing the underage driver access to the high-end vehicle, leading to criminal proceedings against him. Authorities also examined allegations regarding attempts to influence evidence during the initial stages of the investigation.Following the Supreme Court’s decision, Agarwal will be released on bail subject to conditions imposed by the court. The trial and other related proceedings in the case will continue before the competent courts.

The Pune crash had drawn national attention and prompted discussions around stricter enforcement of laws related to underage driving, parental responsibility, and accountability in cases involving luxury vehicles and road safety violations.Pune Porsche crash case, Vishal Agarwal bail news, Supreme Court Pune accident case, minor driving Porsche India, Pune fatal crash investigation, underage driving law India
