Twelve outstanding MPs and four parliamentary standing committees have been selected for the prestigious Sansad Ratna Awards 2026, with Maharashtra securing the highest representation of five awardees

NEW DELHI | May 25, 2026 : The Prime Point Foundation has announced the recipients of the 16th edition of the Sansad Ratna Awards, honoring twelve Members of Parliament (MPs) and four parliamentary standing committees for their exceptional legislative performance. This year’s list comprises ten Lok Sabha members and two Rajya Sabha members, selected based on their active participation and contributions up to the Budget Session of 2026. Maharashtra has emerged as the top-performing state, clinching five awards out of the twelve individual honors announced.

Delhi |May 25.2026: The distinguished awardees from Maharashtra include Dr. Shrikant Shinde and Naresh Mhaske from the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), alongside BJP lawmakers Dr. Medha Kulkarni, Smita Wagh, and Dr. Hemant Savara. Other notable parliamentarians across the nation selected for the honor include Jagdambika Pal, P.P. Chaudhary, Nishikant Dubey, Praveen Patel, Bidyut Baran Mahato, Lubharam Choudhary, and Narhari Amin. Priyadarshni Rahul noted that the rigorous selection process reflects true dedication to parliamentary democracy.

In addition to individual performance, four parliamentary standing committees will be recognized for their institutional efficiency. These include the Committee on Agriculture chaired by Charanjit Singh Channi, the Finance Committee headed by Bhartruhari Mahtab, the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Committee under Saptagiri Sankar Ulka, and the Coal and Lignite Committee led by Anurag Thakur.

Instituted in 2010 by the Chennai-based NGO Prime Point Foundation, the Sansad Ratna Awards were inspired by the suggestions of former Indian President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who also inaugurated the maiden ceremony. Over the past fifteen editions, a total of 143 awards have been conferred upon meritorious lawmakers and committees. The highly anticipated 16th presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place in New Delhi in July 2026.
