Dry Conditions Dominate Maharashtra, Heat Rises in Interior Districts on October 13
Maharashtra sees clear skies and intensifying daytime heat as monsoon recedes; interior districts most affected.
Pune, October 13, 2025: Maharashtra is experiencing predominantly dry weather today as the monsoon recedes further, bringing clear skies across most regions. With the moisture largely withdrawn, daytime temperatures are rising sharply in many inland districts, while coastal areas maintain moderate warmth under clear to partly cloudy skies.
In Pune, conditions are set to remain warm and dry, with highs reaching around 33 °C and overnight lows hovering near 20 °C. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, and humidity levels moderate—offering relief from the oppressive moisture of recent rains. Though occasional cloud cover may develop later in the week, no significant rainfall is forecast for now.
Interior zones like Marathwada, Vidarbha, and parts of Khandesh are expected to feel the heat more intensely. Several areas may see maximums approaching 34–35 °C, especially during midday hours. Meanwhile, western and coastal districts (Konkan, parts of the Western Ghats) could experience slight cooling due to sea breezes, though dry conditions will still rule.
Meteorologists note that this dry spell reflects the ongoing monsoon withdrawal, which has seen diminished rain activity since October 10. Only isolated showers are possible, and mainly in very localized pockets. As the season transitions, much of the state is shifting into a stable, dry regime.
For residents, the strongest heat will be felt between 11 am and 3 pm—the window when sunlight and residual moisture combine to make conditions most uncomfortable. To cope: stay hydrated, limit sun exposure during peak hours, use protective gear (hats, umbrellas), and ideally schedule outdoor tasks during the cooler mornings or evenings.
In short, October 13 brings a respite from rain but a rise in daytime heat for much of Maharashtra. As the monsoon fades, clear skies take over—with interior districts bearing the brunt of the warmth.
