For CET 2026 applications in Maharashtra, Aadhaar and APAAR ID have been made compulsory to ensure accurate candidate verification and streamline admissions.

Pune| December 25,2025: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has mandated that all students applying for CET 2026 must submit both Aadhaar and APAAR ID as part of the registration process. This move is aimed at improving candidate verification and aligning application data with digital academic records. Applicants must ensure their Aadhaar details—including name, date of birth, address, and mobile number—are accurate and match official academic documents to prevent verification issues during registration.

In addition to Aadhaar, candidates are required to generate and submit a 12‑digit APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry), which consolidates a student’s academic records digitally. This ID facilitates verification and smooth coordination across institutions and government systems. Students who do not yet have an APAAR ID are advised to create one well before the application period opens to avoid delays.

The CET Cell has emphasized that both documents are now compulsory. Applicants without a valid Aadhaar or APAAR ID will be unable to complete their registration. Prospective candidates are encouraged to check their details and update them if necessary to ensure a smooth application process.

Candidates applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must also provide a valid disability certificate or Unique Disability ID (UDID). Those eligible for scribes are required to submit scribe details during online registration. These measures aim to maintain fairness while ensuring proper verification and adherence to rules.

Making Aadhaar and APAAR IDs mandatory reflects a broader trend toward digital identity integration in India, enhancing transparency, reducing fraud, and strengthening academic credential tracking. Authorities expect this step to make the admission process more streamlined and reliable for students across Maharashtra.

As the registration window approaches, applicants are urged to verify Aadhaar details, generate APAAR IDs, and ensure all information is correct to avoid last-minute issues when the CET 2026 application form goes live.
