An awareness drive in Kalyani Nagar highlighted traffic rules, helmet compliance, and the health impacts of noise pollution ahead of World Hearing Day on 3rd March.
Pune | 26 February 2026: An awareness drive was organised on 25 February 2026 at Cerebrum IT Park B1 and B2, Kalyani Nagar, in association with Corporator Yogesh Mulik and representatives Monica Sharma, Yasmin Charania, and Haresh Bharwani. The session, timed ahead of World Hearing Day on 3rd March, brought together IT employees, residents, and civic officials to address traffic discipline, noise pollution, and broader civic responsibilities in the area.

A key highlight of the session was the active participation of Sangeeta Jadhav, Traffic Incharge, Yerwada, and her traffic enforcement team. They discussed the importance of helmet compliance, illegal parking, use of modified silencers, and honking violations, and assured attendees of strict monitoring and enforcement to ensure adherence to traffic and civic regulations in Kalyani Nagar.
In alignment with World Hearing Day, the session underscored the severe health impacts of noise pollution, which include:
- Hearing loss and tinnitus
- Increased stress and anxiety
- Sleep disturbances
- Hypertension and long-term cardiovascular risks
Residents voiced their concerns over the rising prevalence of modified silencers, unnecessary honking, and late-night disturbances, stressing that noise pollution is not merely a nuisance but a serious public health issue affecting the well-being of the community.
The awareness drive also addressed wider civic issues, including:
- Littering and improper garbage disposal
- Hygiene and sanitation around commercial spaces
- Traffic congestion, rule violations, and road blockages

IT employees and management were encouraged to adopt responsible commuting practices, ensure strict adherence to traffic and noise regulations, and actively participate in maintaining cleanliness around workplace premises. Officials emphasized coordinated monitoring and stronger enforcement against violations to maintain safety and civic order.
