Property owners in Pune can avail up to 10% rebate on property tax for FY 2026-27 by paying before May 31, as PMC begins bill distribution and urges timely, online payments.
Pune | May 01, 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has initiated the distribution of property tax bills for the financial year 2026–27, while announcing a rebate scheme aimed at encouraging early payments. Property owners who clear their dues in full on or before May 31 will be eligible for a concession ranging between 5% and 10%.

According to officials from the Tax Assessment and Collection Department, the billing process is already underway, with physical copies being delivered to residents through postal services. The civic body has also put in place multiple payment options to make the process more convenient for citizens. Payments can be made at designated branches of Bank of Maharashtra, ICICI Bank, and Cosmos Bank. Additionally, all ward offices and civic facilitation centres will remain operational from Monday to Saturday, between 10 am and 4 pm, to assist taxpayers.

The PMC has emphasized the importance of timely payments, not only for availing the rebate but also for supporting the city’s financial health. Property tax remains one of the primary sources of revenue for the corporation, playing a crucial role in funding civic infrastructure and development projects.
With Pune witnessing continuous urban expansion and a rise in new housing developments, officials expect a significant increase in revenue collection this year. The growing number of registered properties is likely to contribute to a higher overall tax base.

To reduce crowding at payment centres and improve efficiency, the administration has urged citizens to opt for online payment methods through the PMC’s official website. Digital transactions are being promoted as a quicker and more secure alternative. Ravi Pawar, head of the Property Tax Department, has appealed to residents to complete their payments within the stipulated time frame and take advantage of the rebate scheme, while also contributing to the city’s ongoing development efforts.
